Charlie Brown Christmas

OK I confess, I am listening to Charlie Brown Christmas. Since college I have been kinda out of the popular music scene. There are occasions that I like it, like watching Glee or American Idol. But to hear it through my iPod or on the radio in the car just stresses me out lately. So I have been listening to a lot of jazz. My favorite being Diana Krall. She is amazing! But then I wanted music without words so I was listening to George Winston, then that led to
Charlie Brown Christmas.....
is it too early for Christmas decorations?! =)

Old School Crafting

To add some more substance to my blog and to showcase my ever evolving crafting style I am going to post some of the crafty things I have done over the years.

These are all old school, at least 10 years old or around there. You will see in more recent blogs that my picture taking has improved a bit, it helps when you have an awesome camera! =)

A.D.D Blogging

Ok I am such a spaze when it comes to blogs, I get  lost in the never ending link after link! But I saw this link and I think it looks REALLY cool! Santa may make a visit here too!

Our local thrift store!

Since moving here to PA I have discovered an AMAZING thrift store, it is packed to the rafters, literally!

The place is called Little Hearts they don't have a website so I linked a map to their name. There is also a phone number. Anyway I have gotten some cool stuff there like this.

Well I wanted to share what I got there a couple weeks ago and how much I spent.
(because I am a dork like that)

So thats 4 pairs of shoes a bunch of pants, outfits, shirts a skirt and some PJs all for 50$!!!! Having three girls is expensive so I am thrilled with this store!

I also found this there for 20$ with 20% off!! It was stuffed with furniture and 4 dolls!!
Santa will be giving this to one of the girls for Christmas!

(not the actual picture of it, its upstairs hidden away)

More Projects

So having recently moved to this area, I have found that the Goodwill here is WAY cheaper than the one that was closest to me back in NC. So I go there often.
Here are a few things I have found along the way

To this

Of course they aren't completely done yet, I need to cut some circles for the openings and maybe do a monogram. Haven't gotten that far yet.
You can't tell (or maybe you can) but these are plastic and they were UGLY! I of course didn't get a good before pic because I was too excited to make them pretty.
Cost: 1.99

This and this

To this!!

and a closer look

These were 4.99 at gw and then the cost of paint
Total cost : $12.00

(although I am having a slight issue with the paint not sticking, its the Krylon plastic paint and it just scrapes off, any tips would be great!)

More to come soon!

Another Contest!!

I so want to win one....

I have only standard cartridges and I am dieing to make some Halloween stuff! Provo has released some new cartridges and I am LOVING the Christmas Village!

How cute would it be to cut this out for the kids to color and display in their room!

Projects

So since reading all these blogs and seeing the amazing things that people are doing with furniture, I decided to jump on the DIY band wagon. I have always done these types of things, but there was never a name for it.

Here is one of my favorite finds so far

Our local thrift store has a TON of stuff, I found this very cute hutch kid size for $40, but then it was 20% off so I got it for $32!!!!

Before

After

This thing is REAL wood people. I know, I kinda cringed when I decided to paint it and not stain it, but little girls don't like wood colors, they want PINK!
